Edition 38X Review and Photo’s
Well this year being the tenth anniversary of the Edition 38 show we decided to do the full weekend! We arrived in Northampton at around 5pm on the Friday and got onto the site very quickly. We were initially surprised at the price of £30 a person for the whole weekend but within a couple of hours we could see that security had been tightened and the fact that the whole area had been fenced off made you feel better about leaving the cars.
Regular security patrols of the campsite kept any incidence that we saw to a minimum. In fact the only issue we had was a bunch of max power Muppet’s parking in the quiet camping area and proceeding to play euro pop at full volume. I might be 37 but i like a bit of dance and drum and base but what these guys were playing made me cringe lol.
Friday night was a nice chilled night of beer mellow tunes and catching up with some friends. Saturday morning saw the start of the show and shine. Edition charged £5 to enter the show and shine which was a first for both Mark and myself but seeing the number of people who wanted to go on the field I can see what they were trying to do. I think we will see more charging to enter show and shine to keep the quality of the cars entering at a premium.
Mark took the Passat on stage during the day which was cool chatting about what he had done to the car and our other projects including my Sportback and our MK1 Polo. They announced Edition’s ten of the best around 5.30pm with two of our friends Ryan with his immaculate red VW Lupo and Nathan with his individual A3 Sportback on air ride walking away with prises!
Saturday night saw the surprise of Head Kandi DJing the main tent and they rocked it big style. We all managed a decent nights sleep that night. Sunday morning saw the main day of Edition 38 start with earnest. There was a queue to get in the show and shine at around 7am and by 9.55am they announced that no more cars could enter as the field was full. We chilled out during the day walking round the field chatting to people about their cars and taking loads of photo’s. Prises were again announced around the 5.30pm mark.
Although the cost to enter the show was expencive the overall vibe was very chilled and a credit to the guys that run it. I think they hit the nail on the head with the security and the overall quality of the services the toilets remained clean in the main and it was great to be able to grab a hot shower first thing in the mornings.
Edition 38 crew the show was a credit to you guy!!!
I’ve taken plenty of photo’s so enjoy!

Went to GTI International for the first time this weekend and was amazed at how big a show it was! The weather and the atmosphere were both fantastic.
There must have been over 200 cars in the show and shine and some top cars amongst them including Luke (Plush Automotive) MK5 GTI and Matt’s white S3 with RS6 grill.
Big thanks to Nath for showing me round his Audi A3 Sportback and all his new mods, the car was stunning! And also Matt for giving me a rundown of what’s involved with the RS6 Grill mod.
Really enjoyed watching some of the cars do the 1/4 mile and 0-60 on the strip. To be honist I was to busy talking to people about their cars and mods i’m looking to do to mine, and failed to take enough photo’s but heres the few i did take enjoy!
