Well I’ve been going to Ultimate Dubs since it started, I’ve been every year and had a car on a club stand or in the show and shine every year. I even won best MK5 Golf in 2007. But this year wasn’t to be, we submitted photos of Marks Passat but they were pictures before it got the leather interior and Carlsson alloys but it wasn’t deemed good enough?
Anyway it was good to catch up with the usual suspects and meet an make some new friends. We also got to catch Dav of PureKLAS and meet his brother both top guys! The atmospher was spot on nice and relaxing social evening saturday night catching up and talking dubs, ideas and plans! Also just before leaving finally put a face to the queen of Twitter Veedubhev
promice i’ll put more shots of work in progress on the Polo.
Right the cars at the show. The cars were impressive as in previous years the ones that stood out for me were Greg Howell’s MK1 Golf with a MK4 TDI engine the finish looked factory. G Werks MK4 looked spot on on the rotiform wheels, Had a chat with Lomax about his MK5 now riding on air and in a US spec it look the business as usual. Team Wackeldackel’s cars were also rocking it for me!
Anyway here’s my pics sorry for the first few flash was crap in the halls see what you think of the cars there for yourself!

Well it’s true almost. We are having a couple of weeks off the Polo mainly due to other commitments and the weather. But that hasn’t stopped work completely I’m still on the hunt for parts. Targets at the moment are window rubbers, we need a complete set of window rubbers for the MK1 Polo because ours had perished
We’ve both been on the hunt for parts for our daily drives as well. I’ve managed to pick up a set of front and rear MK5 Golf R32 brakes with carriers, calipers, disks and pads at a great price! Mark’s having a back box shipped from Austria for the Passat as no one else seems to have made one or have one in stock. We’ve also both been buying Audi R8 engine caps.
The next big thing for the Polo is the engine coming out on the 12th that will let us smooth the engine bay and get the car ready to have all the welding done.

Well I’m a wheel whore I admit it I like nice rims! So if a set of wheels appear that need a bit of work I’m always willing to have a look. At the start of the year a set of 18″ Mercedes Avantguards came up on Edition 38 that had been paint stripped but needed finishing off. So I stripped them down and gave them to Rainbow Polishers to have mirror polished. Rainbow did an amazing job they looked the business but, I was going to have some stretched rubber put on them then put them on my MK5 Golf.
But I’m only keeping the Golf till early next year when I’ll be having my mom’s A3 so there’s no real point in doing much to it. So I was thinking of selling the Mercedes rims until a set of Audi A6 BBS split rims showed up on Edition 38. I pm’d the guy selling them and asked if he was interested in a straight swap for my mercs which he agreed to so now I have these 19″ x 9″ BBS rims for the Audi.
They need stripping and polishing so they will be off to Rainbow in the near future I’ll post the finished result when there done.
