Ultimate Dubs 2010 Pictures and Review
Well I’ve been going to Ultimate Dubs since it started, I’ve been every year and had a car on a club stand or in the show and shine every year. I even won best MK5 Golf in 2007. But this year wasn’t to be, we submitted photos of Marks Passat but they were pictures before it got the leather interior and Carlsson alloys but it wasn’t deemed good enough?
Anyway it was good to catch up with the usual suspects and meet an make some new friends. We also got to catch Dav of PureKLAS and meet his brother both top guys! The atmospher was spot on nice and relaxing social evening saturday night catching up and talking dubs, ideas and plans! Also just before leaving finally put a face to the queen of Twitter Veedubhev

Right the cars at the show. The cars were impressive as in previous years the ones that stood out for me were Greg Howell’s MK1 Golf with a MK4 TDI engine the finish looked factory. G Werks MK4 looked spot on on the rotiform wheels, Had a chat with Lomax about his MK5 now riding on air and in a US spec it look the business as usual. Team Wackeldackel’s cars were also rocking it for me!

First outing for the Passat
Well Mark took the Passat on it’s first show outing to Dubfreeze 2010. Dubfreeze is a mostly air cooled VW show but the do have a water cooled section to their show and shine, but its all models in one category.
After spending the Saturday clay baring the Passat and polishing the Carlsson wheels Dav polished with Mark the Passat was coming up good but we ran out of time to polish it. So Mark spent Sunday morning at the show polishing while Shaz cleaned all the new interior and the windows.
All the hard work wasn’t for nothing though as he came runner up in the water cooled section winning a nice trophy!

Passat gets new wheels
We spent this Saturday at our local tyre fitter swapping the tyres on my Golf onto the E Class Mercedes rims I brought and fitting a set of tyres to the Carlsson alloys Pureklas polished for us and trying them on the Passat.
It was touch and go when the Passat was on the jack it looked as though there was no way the Passat would drop to the floor. So after fitting front and rear wheels on the drivers side we test lowered the rear with a magazine between the wheel and the arch to try and stop any damage if it was to close. We dropped it down and with luck on our side the camber pulled the rim under the arch!
We did the same with the front and off side wheels which all tucked nicely. And the result?

Carlsson w220′s are back from PureKLAS
Sent the Mercedes Carlsson W220′s I brought in November off to Dav at PureKLAS to be polished. We weren’t sure what we were going to do with them but Mark’s decided he wants to try them on Passat.
The only thing we are worried about is how the rear wheels will sit with the air-ride as they are half an inch wider than Marks current wheels at 8.5″. But they are smaller being 18″ rather than 19″. The ET is slightly lower on these as well being ET35.
Anyway I’ll get some pictures up when we trial fit them the weekend and there going to have a nice bit of stretched rubber on them so if they do poke a bit at the back they will look sweet.
