DC10 2010 – Passat gets runner up in Other VW Class
Well I couldn’t make DC10 this year but Mark was up at the crack of dawn to get there for 8am with the Passat B6. Mark spent the day before detailing the car ready for the show and it paid off!
Mark walked away with runner up trophy in the other VW class which were all well chuffed with!

We spent this Saturday at our local tyre fitter swapping the tyres on my Golf onto the E Class Mercedes rims I brought and fitting a set of tyres to the Carlsson alloys Pureklas polished for us and trying them on the Passat.
It was touch and go when the Passat was on the jack it looked as though there was no way the Passat would drop to the floor. So after fitting front and rear wheels on the drivers side we test lowered the rear with a magazine between the wheel and the arch to try and stop any damage if it was to close. We dropped it down and with luck on our side the camber pulled the rim under the arch!
We did the same with the front and off side wheels which all tucked nicely. And the result?
See for yourself…

Another 5am start yesterday to get down to Rayvern Hydraulics for 8am. Mark was like a little kid in a toy shop he couldn’t wait to see his VW Passat B6 and neither could I! One of the things I was most interested in with air ride is the ride quality as I’ve had coilovers before on cars and not been impressed with the ride. For an every day car coilovers don’t work for me.
Air ride is basically the same as standard ride but you can tighten and soften the ride if you need. Ray had put Marks on a soft setting and for every day use (the Passats not a track car) it’s just what Mark wanted.
Anyway forget all that this is were it’s at check out the pics of Mark’ VW Passat B6 on Rayvern Air Ride! Massive thanks to Ray he’s the king of air ride!

Well 5am anyway to meet Mark and drive down to Cambridgeshire to drop Mark’s VW Passat off at Rayvern Hydraulics for a air ride install.
You wont believe what a joy it is to drive at that time in the morning hardly a soul around an you can just cruise. But they like there speed cameras in Cambridgeshire glad i had my sat nav as the speed limits were all over the place and someone not used to the area could easily be caught out.
We got there bang on 8am which was what Ray had asked as he likes to give his customers 100% attention so that Mark could spec out exactly what he wanted and were he wanted it. HAd a good chat to Ray as well great guy really passionate about his work and some cool looking motors there to including the slammed Jetta.
Ray recons he’ll get a 4 inch drop on the Passat which will put it on the floor! He also said that Mark’s B6 Passat was going to be the first one on air in the UK scratch one for Mark! The Passat also got a set of new 19″ rims to go on it which are going to look sweet.
Now we have the torture of waiting a week till we can get up again at 5am (you owe me big style Mark!) to drive down and pick it up. I cant wait to see what the ride quality is like and get some photo’s.
